I am lucky enough to work only a stones throw from Daddy Donkey where fellow blogger and friend LondonEater and his missus have been raving about their burritos. Slow cooked fast food, with delicious guac! And I’m please to be able to present to you their recipe. Next Monday, February 8th, Daddy Donkey owner Joel Henderson will be featured on the Good Food Channel’s Market Kitchen demonstrating to any and all how to make his “Ultimate Guacamole”. Visit www.daddydonkey.co.uk for more information about Daddy D’s amazing burritos, nachos, guacamole and more. Continue Reading…
Super quick recipe tonight. I’m trying to stop eating pasta in the evening but I needed to make something really quickly and I ran into Sainsburys and picked up pretty much the first things that struck me and it’s really easy to make.
Smoked Salmon Tagliatelle with Cream
250g fresh Tagliatelle pasta
2 Egg Yolks
100g Smoked Salmon (obviously the better quality the better for the dish)
80-100ml double cream
Freshly milled black pepper
Dill
Serves 2
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to the boil and cook the pasta as directed.
Had sausages and mash for lunch. A really quick lunch made with Somerfield sausages (from their “best ever” range). Bit low on the blog updates as it’s been a very hectic week at work and whilst I have been dining, it has all been work related and it didn’t seem very appropriate to take photos of my dinner with clients!

Tonight’s meal… a relatively quick Bolognese sauce cobbled together from a corner shop grocery trip – onions, garlic, celery, organic Italian passata, lean premium beef mince, butter, milk, Parmigiano-Reggiano and Tagliatelle All ‘Uovo. Forgot to buy stuff like pork, carrots and fresh herbs… so dried herbs and no carrots. Continue Reading…
Day two, high calorie: Sirloin steak with mixed salad and a home made vinaigrette dressing. I spent part of the evening at the trustedplaces user workshop put together by Walid, Sokratis, and Niamh of Eat Like A Girl! I met some great people (chrisp, curlynewf, bellaphon, up_shiraz, DanWilkinson, thamshere) and talked a bit of foodie shop. I came home much later than expected and dreaded steak without a sauce of some kind… but it was steak and kept it rare, which worked perfectly and I even used the George Foreman instead of a pan. How simple! Unfortunately we murdered Carina’s bit of steak and it was truly well done… and overdone… oops. The steaks were served up with mixed salads with a home made vinaigrette.
